Location:

Hartford, CT (US-CT-EAST) – Onsite role requiring U.S. Person immigration status. Security Clearance:
None/Not Required.

Title:

Environmental Health & Safety Manager (Module Center)

Salary range: USD 132, per year. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, and paid time off.

What You Will Do

Partner with leadership and line supervision to ensure H&S regulatory compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations and adherence to P&W procedures and company H&S Standard Practices. Identify health & safety hazards and controls to mitigate risks.

Act as the site program manager for health & safety programs such as Control of Hazardous Energy, Hydrogen Safety, Powered Industrial Vehicles, and other H&S programs.

Define requirements, audit program elements, write standard work, implement regulatory compliance activities, provide training and oversee site‑wide compliance.

Serve as the EH&S Manager for a Module Center and facilitate incident reviews, responding to incidents, including being on‑call.

Provide timely information and guidance to the EHS councils and Sub‑Committees, including H&S performance trends and root‑cause corrective actions for injuries and near‑misses, and support strategic action plans to achieve a hazard‑free workplace.

Exhibit outstanding writing and presentation skills, strong analytical and organizational ability, strong working knowledge of H&S management systems, and experience in environmental and safety compliance.

Strong interpersonal skills, leadership ability, adaptability, and the ability to work with a wide range of people, providing team leadership when required to meet highly aggressive goals.

This position reports directly to the Site Environmental Health & Safety Manager.

Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 years EH&S experience required, or advanced degree with 7 years EH&S experience required.

We Prefer:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental engineering, occupational safety & health, environmental management, chemistry, or chemical engineering.
  • Strong understanding of factory equipment, manufacturing, field safety and EH&S management systems.
  • Continuous Improvement experience (CORE, ACE, Six Sigma, LEAN) strongly desired.
  • Strong technical, interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EH&S regulatory and management systems, including compliance with local, state and federal regulations regarding air, storm water, wastewater, and hazardous waste.
  • Additional certifications such as CSP, CIH, P.E. strongly preferred.
