Quality Control Technician
Are you an experienced Quality Control professional looking for a long-term career opportunity with room for advancement?
We're seeking a Quality Control Technician to join a growing manufacturing team in the Deep River, CT area. This is a hands‑on role responsible for inspecting incoming materials and finished products, maintaining quality records, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the production process.
This position offers a unique opportunity for future growth, as the selected candidate will have the chance to develop into a leadership role within the Quality department over time.
Position Highlights:- $35-40 per hour + Overtime
- Monday – Friday from 7:00am – 3:30pm
- Direct Hire
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections of incoming materials and finished products
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, including dimensions and tolerances
- Use precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges
- Conduct first‑piece, in‑process, and final inspections
- Complete inspection reports and maintain quality documentation
- Enter and maintain data within SAP and other systems
- Create and manage nonconformance reports (NMRs)
- Perform capability studies and support continuous improvement efforts
- Control the flow of materials into and out of the Quality Control area
- Assist with receiving inspections and material identification as needed
- Operate pallet jacks and forklifts when required
- Support a safe, organized, and efficient work environment
- Associate's degree in Quality, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
- 4+ years of quality control experience within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (GD&T experience preferred)
- Experience performing dimensional and visual inspections
- Proficiency with measuring instruments and inspection techniques
- Experience with quality documentation and nonconforming material processes
- ERP experience required; SAP experience preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel
- Valid driver's license
- Forklift experience preferred
- Overtime available and required based on business needs
- Approximately 20% travel to suppliers and customers, both domestic and international
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work within a manufacturing environment
- Must be comfortable standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended periods
