Outside Sales Representative - Law Enforcement - North Jersey

Overview

MES is the nation’s largest provider of PPE, fire apparatus, uniforms, and services to first responders, with over 25 locations and a nationwide warehousing system.

Are you outgoing, customer-focused, organized, self-disciplined, and motivated by money? MES is looking for an Outside Sales Representative to assist Police Departments and other First Responder departments in your assigned territory with their law enforcement equipment needs. You will work closely with existing customers and new prospects as the face of MES through the entire sales cycle and provide end user training and product setup when necessary.

This is a full-time position with the potential to earn significant monthly commissions.

North Jersey - Bergen, Passaic, Essex, Hudson counties.

MES full training on sales, products, customer management.

25% travel within the assigned territory.

• Effective listening, communication (verbal and written), and negotiating skills
• Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards
• Able to perform business math (gross margin calculations, etc.)
• Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office:
  Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds (demo equipment, sizing gear, etc.)
• Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen (excludes THC) and background check
• A high school diploma, bachelor’s degree preferred

• Minimum 2 - 3 years in similar position
• Prior experience selling to emergency responders is highly preferred
• Experience as a first responder/EMT/Law Enforcement Officer
• Military veterans are highly encouraged to apply to this position
• Conducting outreach to correctional facilities
