Pipefitter​/Plumbing Technician, 2nd Shift; Onsite

Responsibilities

• Plan, layout, perform, and oversee pipe fitting and plumbing duties across plant and offsite locations.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair piping systems and associated equipment while complying with environmental, health, and safety procedures.
• Respond to maintenance or service directives and repair any plumbing‑related problems.
• Interpret blueprints, diagrams, drawings, sketches, schematics, and other instructions to install, modify, or repair plumbing systems.
• Dispense propane to consumers as required.
• Handle emergency facility problems during off‑normal shift coverage.
• Work with various liquids, chemicals, and gases – water, steam, air, CO2, chill water, propane, hydraulics, fire protection lines, vacuum, natural gas, ammonia, acids, alkalis, sanitary and industrial waste, hydrogen, nitrogen.
• Use tools such as pipe benders, threaders, torches, ladders, hoists, and power‑operated man lifts.
• Select and install insulation as required.
• Truage, overhaul, and repair valves, pumps, regulators, backflow prev enters, and related equipment.
• Fabricate and install hangers, brackets, braces, and other supports.
• Order parts and maintain stock of plumbing supplies.
• Clean wet dust collectors, drains, and ditches.
• Instruct one or two employees in proper performance of duties.
• Maintain neat and clean equipment and surroundings.
• Improve processes and solve problems with colleagues and technical support.
• Perform related duties as required within this function.

• High school diploma or GED.
• 4–5 years of relevant pipe fitting or plumbing experience.
• Experience with lock‑out tag‑out procedures.
• Experience reading blueprints, diagrams, service manuals, drawings, and other instructions.
• Experience in pipe fitting, plumbing, heating, sanitary, acid waste, backflow prevention, and mechanical repair.

• Valid motor license and certification for powered industrial trucks.
• Experience with confined space and hazardous material handling.
• Basic computer skills.
• 5–7 years of trades training or experience.
