Diesel Mechanic (Non-DOT) – $5K Bonus

Compensation

  • Hourly pay $30.57-$40.06 per hour (based on experience + $0.75 shift differential)
  • Overtime paid after 40 hours per week.
  • Typical work week is 40-50 hours per week.
  • $5,000 sign‑on/retention bonus

Work schedule

  • Tuesday‑Saturday or Thursday‑Monday.
  • Work 3rd shift, usually 11:00 pm‑7:30 am; work until completed. Typically 8‑12 hours per day.
  • Work schedule may change based on business needs; must be flexible.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform preventative and as‑needed maintenance of diesel trucks and electronic vehicles.
  • Properly operate the mobile service truck and attend to truck inventory.
  • Interpret and follow work orders and technical manuals.
  • Travel to locations to perform on‑site diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with management, providing detailed breakdowns of service requirements and costs.
  • Maintain schedules and document completed preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance; ensure work meets manufacturer specifications according to FMCSR (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations).
  • Maintain parts and yard organization with direction from operations management to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of previous technical experience with Class 8 commercial tractors and trailers.
  • Air brake systems certification.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot repairs using diagnostic systems.
  • Ase certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of air, electronic, braking, and suspension systems as well as general mechanical operation and/or light body repair.
  • Familiar with FHWA, FMCSR, and BIT inspections.
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Candidate must provide their own tools.
