Pay:
The hourly base pay range for this position in CT is $35.00 - $40.00. Please note that the hourly base pay information is a general guideline only. Airgas considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
- Collaborate safely around high voltage electrical equipment, compressors, pumps, motors, valves; work on cryogenic process equipment such as pumps, valves, and hoses.
- Complete basic disassembly and rebuild of mechanical equipment, change out pumps, mechanical seals, collect vibration readings, collect oil samples, and grease rotating equipment.
- Support basic low voltage electrical system maintenance, process control loop and readout calibrations.
- Calibrate and replace transmitters with accuracy.
- Complete Preventative Maintenance tasks and document them in the CMMS system. Remove and install motors and pumps.
- Grow knowledge of the ASU Process.
- Support the team by covering shifts if a situation arises.
- Collaborate with nearby plant teams during their shutdown or PM activities.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2–5 years of industrial plant / cryogenic plant experience preferred.
- Understanding of control valve functions, instrument calibration, pressure transmitter, level transmitter, etc.
- Experience troubleshooting equipment in a plant environment.
- Comfortable working in a non‑air‑conditioned environment.
- Experience with multimeters (Fluke multimeters).
- Ability to climb and work at heights (>100 ft).
- Computer experience, familiarity with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint tools.
- Valid employment authorization in the U.S. and no current or future visa sponsorship requirement.
- Valid driver’s license and own mode of transportation.
- Experience with electrical / instrumentation equipment in a plant environment.
- Strong mechanical background in a plant environment.
