CTE North America is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Technical Service Technician to join our technical service team. This position is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and commissioning of CTE aerial lift equipment.

The Technical Service Technician plays a critical role in ensuring our machines meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and reliability before delivery to customers and throughout their service life.

This position requires strong mechanical aptitude along with the ability to diagnose hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and CAN Bus control systems. The ideal candidate is a professional problem solver who enjoys identifying root causes rather than simply replacing parts. Success in this role requires analytical thinking, attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, dealers, and customers.

  • Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI), machine maintenance, commissioning, and operational testing of new equipment.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot CAN Bus communication networks, electronic controllers, sensors, and machine control systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Utilize electrical schematics, hydraulic schematics, service manuals, diagnostic software, and technical documentation to accurately identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Perform machine calibrations, software configuration, functional testing, and operational verification following repairs.
  • Assemble, install, adjust, and inspect machine components and accessories.
  • Inspect equipment to verify compliance with company quality and safety standards.
  • Document diagnostic findings, repairs performed, parts used, and recommended corrective actions accurately and professionally.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Safely operate forklifts, overhead lifting equipment, and shop equipment.
  • Assist Engineering, Technical Support, Warranty, Parts, and Production departments as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring product issues and recommending corrective actions.
  • Participate in ongoing technical training to maintain proficiency with new products, technologies, and service procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose and repair heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, industrial machinery, or related mobile equipment.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and electronic control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, electrical schematics, hydraulic schematics, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Diesel Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Hydraulics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting CAN Bus communication systems and electronic control networks.
  • Experience using OEM diagnostic software and electronic service tools.
  • Experience troubleshooting mobile hydraulic systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical control systems.
