WORK YEAR:188 Days
SALARY RANGE (2026–2027):- Master’s Degree (MA): $55,109 – $93,144
- 6th Year / Advanced Certification: $58,332 – $96,509
- Doctorate (Ph.D.): $60,480 – $98,742
(Salary placement is determined by experience and step level according to the PEA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Under Article 9, Section
A.4(b), Social Workers with a Master degree requiring 50+ credits are placed on the 6th-Year degree track.)
Plainfield Public Schools is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and collaborative full-time Social Worker to split time and responsibilities between Plainfield High School and Plainfield Central Middle School. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive social work services, crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, and family support to facilitate student success across both middle and high school environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Divide duties equitably between Plainfield High School and Plainfield Central Middle School based on student needs and administrative guidance.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
- Participate as an active member of PPT, 504, and Planning/Intervention teams at both schools.
- Conduct crisis assessments and interventions as required.
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, guidance staff, and parents to support student well-being and academic achievement.
- Connect students and families with school-based resources and community agencies.
- Maintain accurate case documentation and student records in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
- Valid Connecticut State Certification as a School Social Worker (071).
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a shared schedule and work effectively across two distinct school cultures.
