Position: Agile Software Development – Engine System Software Principal Engineer P4 (Onsite)
Location: Hockanum

Role Overview

Principal Engineer – Engine System Software, Pratt & Whitney Controls & Diagnostic Systems (CDS). This role focuses on the development and certification of military and commercial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems.

What You Will Do
  • Develop and/or lead support software tool development in a Dev Sec Ops  pipeline.
  • Participate in and/or lead process improvements.
  • Perform trade studies and analyze solutions.
  • Develop and/or lead software requirements and designs within the Agile Framework.
  • Perform and/or lead software verification within the Agile Framework.
  • Participate in and/or lead Agile ceremonies.
  • Participate in software planning, estimating, and tracking per Agile framework.
  • Possibly serve as Agile Scrum Master, Product Owner, Product Manager, and/or part of the Development Team.
What You Will Learn

You will gain experience applying multidisciplinary engineering and leadership skills in the development and support of complex engine control and diagnostic systems and software.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8 years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree with 5 years’ experience.
  • Experience with Microservices, Java, Python, CI/CD, Agile, Dev Sec Ops , AWS, SQL, and Test‑Driven Design.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
  • Solid track record of achieving results in technical leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and drive process improvement.
  • Proficiency in Software Verification & Validation, functional coverage, code coverage, traceability, methodologies, automation, and quality assurance practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, investigation, problem‑solving, and analytical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with Development Team, Customers, Stakeholders, and SMEs.
  • Desire for continuous learning and innovation.
