Transportation Specialist position description:
Responsible for driving a company vehicle on a set route to deliver and pick up mail, supplies, and specimens, and deliver back to the lab for processing. Works as part of a team to improve services to patients.

Schedule: This is a part‑time position, 25 hours per week. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 10:00 AM‑3:00 PM;
Saturdays 11:00 AM‑3:30 PM. Schedule is subject to change based on the needs of the business.

• Deliver and pick up mail and supplies to the offices.
• Pick up specimens and store appropriately for transport.
• Fill out route sheet completely and accurately.
• Go to each stop on the route sheet and check every specimen box for specimens.
• Use the logistics phone and ensure the phone number is on the sign‑in sheet; answer or return calls in a timely manner.
• Complete the sign‑in sheet accurately with return time and number of specimens.
• Ensure specimen count matches what the processors count.
• Adapt to changes in scheduling due to weather, holidays or traffic.
• Operate a company‑owned vehicle following all state laws.
• Perform a safety check of the vehicle; ensure all items necessary for proper storage are packed before departure (ice for the cooler, dry ice for frozen specimens, cooler bag, route sheet and binder).
• Ensure all materials are accounted for and deliveries are to the correct destination.
• Represent PHP Laboratory when dealing with offices and Quest stations.
• Maintain a clean vehicle inside and outside.
• Comfortable lifting up to 20 lbs.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Access to reliable transportation and a valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Current motor vehicle record in good standing.

• Previous experience as a delivery driver.

Pay is based on local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. Hourly pay range for this role is $16.00 to $25.05 per hour based on full‑time employment. All wages comply with applicable minimum wage laws.
