Overview
What does it mean to be a part of the Order Selection team? In this fast‑paced role you are the boots on the ground responsible for accurately and efficiently pulling customer orders within the warehouse. This role requires strategic thinking and attention to detail while palletizing orders and ensuring they are placed in the correct assigned locations. You will operate motorized equipment including Electric Pallet Jacks while ensuring that you safely and accurately move product within the warehouse.
Pay- Starting wage is $23.75 per hour with a pay increase after 2 consecutive weeks of hitting productivity
- $2.00 per hour for weekends
- $2.00 per hour for freezer environment (if applicable)
- Friday‑Monday 9:45 am start OR Sunday‑Thursday 9:45 am start depending on availability (Schedule is subject to change by management and through warehouse rebid process with the union)
- Average 10‑12 hour shifts
- Must be 18 years or older
- Warehouse experience selecting is preferred but not required
- Lifting objects weighing from less than 20 to 60 lbs consistently
- Occasionally pushing, reaching, pulling, and gripping
- Must have the ability to work in various temperatures
- Identify pick locations and safely pick the items
- Inspect assigned equipment for safety issues
- Pick the correct item and quantity, checking UPCs or item descriptions
- Place labels on the side of the cases
- Shrink wrap and label with correct truck, stop and other required information
- Stage pallets in appropriate bay and build a stable pallet
- Immediately inform a supervisor or manager of any potential safety threats, violations of company policy, and keep the area clean and debris out of the work area
- Operate pallet jack/pushcart safely and efficiently
- Use good judgment as direct supervision may not be immediately available at times
- Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required
- Understanding of WMS preferred but not required

- Understanding of safety guidelines
- Strong knowledge of applicable Bakco functions and RF systems
- Ability to select at established minimum rate for department
- Astute, close attention to detail
- Understand and properly follow all selecting procedures and verbal instructions in your respective area: grocery, repack, cooler/freezer
- Possess an understanding of procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Exposed to temperatures ranging from –20 °F to 35 °F in Perishable Operation and 37 °F to 90 °F in Grocery Operation
- Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures
- Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment
- Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work‑related equipment
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
