Job Title: IT Infrastructure Field Technician
Location: Pittsburgh, PA or Connellsville, PA
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 (flexible, depending on experience)

General
Purpose:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Specialist to provide in-depth technical support, lead troubleshooting efforts, and maintain the overall health of customer server, network, and computer systems. This role involves installation, configuration, monitoring, hardware/software maintenance, cloud and on-prem infrastructure support, and direct client interaction.
The ideal candidate can independently solve complex issues, work in both remote and on-site environments, prioritize tasks based on business impact, and deliver exceptional service.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- System & Server Support
- Maintain, configure, and support servers, desktops, laptops, and related hardware/software.
- Perform installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of operating systems, server hardware, and backup solutions.
- Update and maintain endpoint protection software (EDR) and ensure security measures remain current.
- Diagnose system issues, prevent recurrence of errors, and maintain operational stability.
- Document daily work, changes, and project details in accordance with standard procedures.
- Monitor and troubleshoot computer networks, analyzing performance issues and tracing protocol activity.
- Perform LAN troubleshooting and assist with new network equipment installations or upgrades.
- Handle wiring tasks such as patch panel terminations, network jack installations, and proper cable troubleshooting.
- Respond to network alerts, escalating to senior engineers or ISPs when necessary.
- Assist in developing contingency plans for outages, failures, and emergency situations.
- Provide remote and on-site technical support in a professional business environment.
- Communicate network and system issues to clients, employees, and management clearly and effectively.
- Assist users with technical problems, onboarding new staff, and configuring new equipment.
- Schedule on-site visits and manage client expectations.
- Maintain outstanding customer service throughout all interactions.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies, tools, and equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to test and deploy new software or hardware.
- Provide internal consulting, guidance, and best-practice recommendations.
- Stay current on new technologies and maintain selected certifications.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Windows Server administration, including Active Directory users, computers, and permissions.
- Experience with SMB network share permissions and print server management.
- Minimum 3+ years of IT support, consulting, or MSP experience.
- Associate degree in a related technology field or equivalent hands-on experience/certifications.
- Familiarity with IT ticketing systems.
- Ability to manage workload, prioritize issues based on business impact, and work independently.
- Ability to support UPS systems, server software, wiring projects, and client hardware deployments.
