What You'll Be Doing
- Scale rock faces and remove loose material to ensure safe working conditions
- Inspect highwalls, benches, and faces to identify potential hazards
- Communicate with equipment operators and supervisors to coordinate scaling activities
- Operate scaling tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Support overall quarry safety and production through proactive hazard mitigation
- Demonstrated ability to work safely in an underground mining or heavy industrial environment
- Strong situational awareness and ability to identify potential hazards
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined or variable conditions
- Ability to use scaling tools and equipment with precision and control
- Effective communication skills and commitment to teamwork
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
- Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing
- Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level
- $28.76 per hour plus an additional $0.50/hr underground rate
