- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on various piping systems, including but not limited to hydraulic, pneumatic, steam, and water lines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to execute piping installations and repairs accurately.
- Cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes according to specifications, utilizing a variety of materials such as steel, copper, and PVC.
- Inspect and test piping systems for leaks, pressure, and proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with pumps, valves, and other related mechanical equipment.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including Lockout/Tagout procedures and confined space entry.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members and production personnel to minimize downtime and optimize plant operations.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and material usage accurately.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.
- Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or equivalent vocational training in pipe fitting, resulting in Journeyman Certification.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a pipefitter or industrial maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques (e.g., TIG, MIG, Stick) and pipe joining methods.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and P&IDs.
- General knowledge and use of measuring tools, hand tools, pipe wrenches, powered hand tools, wood working equipment and some machine equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
- Willing to work various shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
