The Material Handler is responsible for packaging and loading parts, units, materials, and other miscellaneous items. Collective Bargaining Agreement language applies to this position.

Responsibilities
  • Locates and transports finished parts, buy-outs, and materials as required to maintain, service, and support plant production operations
  • Transports finished/inventory into, out of, and within the operation, as necessary
  • Obtains pick list and delivers material to designated location as required
  • Reports labor transactions and material count manually and/or electronically
  • Removes chips/shavings and drums of oil/coolant from manufacturing area as required and delivers to designated location
  • Operates forklift truck, hand carts, cranes equipped with cab or pendant controls to perform loading, unloading, and transporting materials
  • Determines proper rigging for crane lifts and/or assists where required by load and shape
  • Operates gas and battery powered equipment, hoist, or handcart. Reports equipment problems to supervision in a timely manner
  • Performs incidental duties pertaining to the classification, as required
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area
  • Observes plant rules and safe working practices.
Basic Qualifications
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
  • Open to any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Moderate computer literacy
