Production Supervisor
Position:
Production Supervisor – Overnight shift (6pm-6am, Monday through Friday).
- Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staffing levels, ensuring effective operations and responsiveness to fluctuating workloads.
- Coordinate daily schedule, workflow, personnel issues, and other matters with other supervisors.
- Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work‑related problems.
- Review work throughout the process to ensure proper completion.
- Check specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information in work orders.
- Notify designated employees or departments of loaded items and encountered problems.
- Prepare and maintain work records and reports.
- Fill in for any area, employee, or department as needed.
- Process orders to communicate material flow, following up on rush, sample, or shortage orders.
- Check all equipment, tools, and PPE to ensure safe condition.
- Ensure workers use PPE, comply with safety policies, and employ safe work practices.
- Coordinate with Human Resources and Plant Management to document infractions, discipline employees for poor performance, safety violations, and policy violations.
- Report changes in production that affect job duties, requirements, or safety hazards to HR to keep job descriptions and JSAs current.
- Check quality of incoming material and monitor order status.
- Show operators how styles are fabricated and assist in training new employees.
- Expedite necessary orders through the plant.
- Assist in ordering raw materials as needed.
- Communicate necessary information to plant personnel.
- Perform quality checks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting; experience with CNC cutting equipment, horizontal and vertical saws, and prior foam experience preferred.
- Previous work experience in a “Lean” manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and manufacturing distribution techniques.
- General knowledge of machines and tools, including design, usage, repair, and maintenance.
- Proficient in presenting information and answering questions from managers, customers, and sales force.
- Adept at solving practical problems and applying common sense in execution of instructions.
- Ability to apply general mathematics to necessary operations.
- Adherence to company policies and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation.
- Ability to extract and compile data from written sources, individuals, or multiple work orders.
- Personal computer skills with MS Excel, Order Entry, and Microsoft Outlook.
Overnight (6pm – 6am, Monday through Friday).
