This position is on-site at our Conover, NC manufacturing facility and has a base schedule of Monday through Friday, 4pm to 12:30am. Requires the ability to work overtime as needed.
SCOPEThe Process Technician supports the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of LPG valve products through machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and process support. This role serves as the technical expert for assigned equipment, works closely with Team Leads to support daily production priorities, and provides training and guidance to team members. Process Technicians help identify and resolve operational issues, support continuous improvement efforts, and ensure adherence to established quality and safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Machine Setup, Operation & TroubleshootingPerform machine setup, changeovers, adjustments, and startup activities for assigned assembly equipment. Operate equipment as needed to support production requirements. Monitor machine performance, identify issues, and perform routine troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve equipment, process, or product concerns. Ensure proper tooling, materials, and components are available and production-ready. Identify equipment wear, damage, or abnormal conditions and escalation appropriately.
ProductionSupport & Workflow Coordination
Partner with Team Leads to prioritize production activities based on customer demand, order status, and production schedules. Support efficient deployment of assemblers by aligning skills and resources to production needs. Monitor workflow and communicate production risks, delays, or resource constraints. Help ensure daily production metrics are updated on LDM boards and goals are achieved while maintaining safety and quality standards. May serve as the backup to Team Leads in their absence.
Quality,Process Improvement & Training
Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, work instructions, and quality standards. Inspect products and processes using gauges, calipers, and other measurement tools to ensure conformance. Ensure proper containment and documentation of nonconforming materials. Train and coach employees on equipment operation, standard work, quality requirements, and safe work practices. Serve as a technical resource by sharing knowledge, supporting problem-solving, and promoting cross-training. Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
Communicate when work instructions, procedures, or documented processes require updates or clarification and support implementation of approved changes.
