Job Overview
Quality Inspector responsible for 1st‑piece, in‑process, and final inspections in the assembly departments, including measurement equipment calibrations and tracking calibration records. The role records nonconformances in the Assembly Inspection History program and communicates findings to supervisors and QEs.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Dimensional inspection of components using inspection tools and gauges.
- Ensure proper documentation is provided with shipments (material traceability reports, certificates of conformity, etc.).
- Transact approved material and ensure approved items are identified and staged in the appropriate area for put‑away.
- Calibrate equipment (calipers, torque wrenches, pressure gauges, etc.).
- Conduct in‑process and final inspection of machined components and final assemblies, recording the inspection in the Assembly Inspection History Record by use of a tablet.
- Notify supervisors and QEs of any nonconforming products.
- High school graduate or GED required; 4‑year degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or Manufacturing preferred.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with upper‑level management.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings/blueprints and how to interpret dimensional tolerances.
- Knowledge of standard inspection tools and gauges (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, plug gauges, dial indicators, optical comparator, durometer).
