JOB TITLE: Local Long Distance Driver
DEPARTMENT: Logistics
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the Traffic Manager, the Local Long Distance Driver transports finished furniture goods over the road to LEE customers, LEE plant locations and/or distribution centers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Safeand Efficient Trailer Movement:
Maneuver semi-trailers withintheyardand plants ensuring smooth and safe operations. - Movetrailersbetweenwarehousesandotherlocations.
- Positiontrailersatdockdoorsfor loadingandunloading.
- Straight truckdrivingrequired as needed andovertheroadtrips willberequired as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections ofthe tractor and trailers to ensure safe operating conditions.
- Communicateeffectivelywithotherdriversandwarehousepersonnel to coordinate activities.
- Adheretoallsafetyregulationsandcompanypolicies.
- Assistwithloadingandunloadingtrailers
- Requiredtoworkinthewarehouseandshowroom asneeded
- Manage trailer inventory locations
- All other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES
- 3to5years'experience required
- AvalidCDLdriver'slicenseandacleandrivingrecordrequired
- Abilitytomaneuverlargevehiclesintightspaces.
- Keeneyefor detailininspectingequipmentandensuringsafety.
- Abilitytoperformtasksthatinvolveliftingandmoving
- Abilitytoaddressissuesthatmayariseandcommunicateeffectivelywithothers.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and work in a fast-paced environment.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to work full-time
- Able to lift, carry, push or pull at least 50 lbs
- Ability to sit for extended period of time (8-12 hours)
- Able to drive long hours and travel regularly (8-12 hours)
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, or crouching
- Must meet DOT standards for vision and hearing, including the ability to read road signs, navigate GPS, and hear warning signals.
- Compliance with DOT physical examination requirements
