JOB TITLE: Local Long Distance Driver

DEPARTMENT: Logistics

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Traffic Manager, the Local Long Distance Driver transports finished furniture goods over the road to LEE customers, LEE plant locations and/or distribution centers.

• Safeand Efficient Trailer  Movement:
  Maneuver semi-trailers withintheyardand plants ensuring smooth and safe operations.
• Movetrailersbetweenwarehousesandotherlocations.
• Positiontrailersatdockdoorsfor loadingandunloading.
• Straight truckdrivingrequired as needed andovertheroadtrips willberequired as needed.
• Conduct routine inspections ofthe tractor and trailers to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Communicateeffectivelywithotherdriversandwarehousepersonnel to coordinate activities.
• Adheretoallsafetyregulationsandcompanypolicies.
• Assistwithloadingandunloadingtrailers
• Requiredtoworkinthewarehouseandshowroom asneeded
• Manage trailer inventory locations
• All other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

• 3to5years'experience required
• AvalidCDLdriver'slicenseandacleandrivingrecordrequired
• Abilitytomaneuverlargevehiclesintightspaces.
• Keeneyefor detailininspectingequipmentandensuringsafety.
• Abilitytoperformtasksthatinvolveliftingandmoving
• Abilitytoaddressissuesthatmayariseandcommunicateeffectivelywithothers.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and work in a fast-paced environment.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to work full-time

• Able to lift, carry, push or pull at least 50 lbs
• Ability to sit for extended period of time (8-12 hours)
• Able to drive long hours and travel regularly (8-12 hours)
• Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, or crouching
• Must meet DOT standards for vision and hearing, including the ability to read road signs, navigate GPS, and hear warning signals.
• Compliance with DOT physical examination requirements
