Staff Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This position is ideal for a mid-level accounting professional who can quickly integrate into the role, work independently, and contribute immediately to the accuracy and efficiency of our accounting processes.
Fixed asset accounting experience is required
, preferably in a manufacturing or oil and gas environment.

As a Staff Accountant
, you will be responsible for supporting the timely completion of monthly close activities including the preparation of journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations and assisting with ad-hoc reports and special requests as needed. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

• Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations through understanding the why, technical know-how, and bringing a fresh perspective to conventional accounting tasks.
• Review and analyze corporate data to identify errors, omissions, and opportunities to improve.
• Prepare month-end entries, review, and reconciliation of Fixed Asset schedules, Prepaid Expenses, Accruals and Inventory accounts.
• Identify and propose process improvements & support the implementation of ongoing process improvement initiatives where applicable.
• Support year-end audit.
• Undertake special projects related to streamlining finance processes.
• Other duties and projects to assist the finance team.

• Degree in Accounting
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) would be an asset
• Advanced skills in Excel would be an asset
• Experience in the oilfield service and/or manufacturing would be a strong advantage
• Familiarity with a multi-company, multi-country, and multi-currency accounting structures
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities with the appropriate level of urgency

In office position, full-time M-F, Location - Conroe, TX.
