Position Summary

The Billing Specialist is responsible for accurately billing insurance and employer services related to occupational health, ensuring timely and compliant invoice generation, and submission. This role supports the full billing cycle including data entry, charge capture verification, invoice adjustments, and communication with employers, third‑party administrators (TPAs), and internal departments.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Compensation

Starting compensation range is $19.00-$21.00 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Responsibilities
  • Review and validate employer service charges for completeness and accuracy before invoicing.
  • Scrub each claim to ensure all billed services are authorized by the employer.
  • Ensure custom billing codes are accurately applied based on employer agreements.
  • Confirm that pricing aligns with contract rates or standard retail pricing.
  • Manage and prioritize daily billing tasks to ensure fast, accurate processing of invoices and maintain consistent billing workflow efficiency.
  • Generate, process, and submit invoices to employers or TPAs in a timely manner.
  • Confirm that all billing is submitted on a consistent schedule, either weekly or monthly, in accordance with client requirements and internal protocols.
  • Identify and resolve billing discrepancies, incomplete information, or documentation issues with internal departments.
  • Follow up with clinic managers to verify that all billing‑related requests are addressed and completed in a timely manner.
  • Submit corrected invoices or supporting documentation as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and company policies in all billing activities.
  • Participate in department meetings and training related to billing process improvements.
  • Perform other billing‑related duties as assigned by the Billing Supervisor or Revenue Cycle Manager.
  • Other duties may be assigned per department needs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 6 months billing experience in a medical setting; new grads welcome to apply!
