POSITION TITLE:

PEIMS Services Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Serve as the liaison to the PEIMS department campus attendance liaisons and to provide assistance for all District attendance clerks and registrars and to the Manager of PEIMS in support of 100% accurate data.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Perform data analysis as required for edit reports.

* Thorough knowledge of attendance rules and updates as required for PEIMS data standards.

* Liaison with all campus level attendance personnel.

* Train appropriate campus personnel, to include but not limited to campus Registrars, Attendance Assistants, and Assistant Principals, based on assigned responsibilities.

* Assist Manager of PEIMS with reports and documentation.

* Campus and district level attendance reporting.

* Manage the centralization attendance responsibilities.

* Campus visits as required to promote positive relationships between the campus personnel and the PEIMS Department.

* Participate with student services user groups for the efficient use and advancement of the Student Information System and other student services.

* Interface with appropriate district administrators as necessary.

* Complete assigned state submissions.

* Assist in the completion of all federal, state, and local reporting requests including, but not limited to, Office of Civil Rights, Texas Education Agency, Office of the County Auditor, and Department of Human Services.

* Oversee the effective use of Student Information System and Online Registration System.

* Work with Student Services to test new releases of the Student Information System in the areas related to their position.

* Report to the Student Services team any software issues discovered by campus personnel.

* Alert campus personnel of any known software issues and estimated time to resolve.

* Communicate effectively with attendance, registration and discipline personnel.

* Lead campus audits, meetings, training, and mailings as required.

* Maintain confidentiality.

* Maintain regular attendance.

EXPERIENCE:

* Minimum one-year experience responsible for campus records

* Experience with record-keeping for student attendance or campus registration

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

* High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

* Able to organize and prioritize workload

* Knowledge of district attendance system

* Strong teamwork and positive human relations skills

* Proficient computer, word processor, and Excel skills

* Able to communicate and follow oral and written instructions

* Excellent communication, and telephone skills

* Flexible and able to work effectively under pressure

* Positive work performance regarding promptness, attendance, and productivity

* Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
