Part-Time Administrative Specialist I
This position performs routine clerical, customer service duties including answering the telephone and directing incoming calls while providing general receptionist duties and excellent customer service for visitors to the City of Conroe's City Secretary's Office.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. One year related clerical experience in a customer service or public contact setting.
Special Requirements:
Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.) preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Skill in communication, both verbal and written
- Ability to interact with the public in a professional and pleasant manner in person and on the telephone
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products and other general office equipment
- Typing/Keyboarding;
Good to excellent grammar skills are a must - Ability to work with constant interruptions
- Ability to count change and other cash handling skills
- Basic knowledge of sports in reference to processing reservations
Physical Demands
The work is light and requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, lifting, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
The City of Conroe offers an employee assistance program and free membership at the City's pool and recreation center facilities for all employees. Starting salary for this position is $18.29 hourly.
