Position Title:

Homeless Student Parent Liaison Job Description

Assist with parent conferences, parent communications and assist in the tracking of homeless students throughout the school district.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Respond to routine inquiries from staff and public.
  • Exercise good telephone etiquette, receive incoming calls, answer routing questions, take reliable messages, route to appropriate staff in English and Spanish.
  • Maintain, organize, and update/order supplies as needed.
  • Perform clerical duties.
  • Sort and distribute mail.
  • Assist with parent conferences and parent communications in English and Spanish.
  • Support and carry out activities related to the Homeless and Dropout Prevention Programs.
  • Communicate with students, teachers, staff, and parents.
  • Compile, maintain records, and other required documents.
  • Monitor student grades and completion rates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
Experience
  • One to three years secretarial experience
Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

  • Proficient skills in typing, word processing and file maintenance
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • General computer knowledge
  • General knowledge of responsibilities of each campus department
  • General knowledge of school programs
  • Ability to work with students and teachers effectively
  • Awareness and ability to access community resources
