E. DeBakey VA Health Care System is seeking an outstanding Physicians to join our Primary Care and Community Clinics Care team in Conroe, Texas.
He/she will provide comprehensive primary care and preventative care to primary care patients, under the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model. The type of care is served to the Veteran population with diseases consistent to those seen in the general population include, but are not limited to: acute and chronic illness, women's health, gender specific health care, mental health, and preventive care, along with coordination of care delivery.
A major focus is in preventative medicine.

EDRP Authorized:
This position is eligible for EDRP, a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of your start date. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Pay:
Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement:
Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME:

Contract:
No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assess the needs and plan intervention for individuals/families;
- Facilitates the delivery of primary, acute and chronic health care;
- Assists individuals/families to achieve optimal levels of health through collaboration with medical and health care professionals;
- Exercises medical decision-making and provides a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for a specific group of patients;
- Exhibits leadership in initiating changes in patient care programs based on current concepts and findings from research and/or studies;
- Involved in direct patient care, patient and family teaching, staff education and multidisciplinary consultations and collaborations.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm; may include extended hours and some Saturdays
