Campus Marketing Statement

Lone Star College-Montgomery offers high-quality, low-cost academic transfer and career training education to over 80,000 students each semester. Situated at 3200 College Park Drive, Conroe, TX 77384, the campus serves the Woodlands and Conroe communities with programs such as radiologic technology, physical therapy, and biotechnology.

Job Description Purpose and Scope

The teaching faculty are responsible for providing learning activities and support that lead to the achievement of course objectives and contribute to the college’s educational environment. Primary responsibilities include planning, developing, and teaching courses that facilitate student learning.

Essential Job Functions
  • Teach Philosophy courses at a variety of times and locations
  • Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of material
  • Submit required college reports and forms timely
  • Utilize a course syllabus for each course following institutional guidelines
  • Meet with and advise students via appointments, electronic communication, or other methods
  • Evaluate students to measure progress and inform them of outcomes
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Mastery of course content
  • Demonstrated leadership skills emphasizing collaboration and facilitation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints and work effectively with diverse people

Physical Abilities

The work is sedentary with occasional walking, standing, bending, or light carrying. No special physical demands are required.

Work Schedule and Conditions
  • Equipment includes PC workstation, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed
  • Work in a climate‑controlled classroom or lab environment with minimal safety hazards
  • Hours vary by class time; instructors must meet scheduled classes and be available to students outside instruction
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Philosophy or Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Philosophy
Salary

$55.44 per contact hour.
