Job Description:

This supplemental position has been approved for the upcoming school year. The position is 100% funded under the ESSA Title I, Part A program and will require biannual certification. In the absence of Title I, Part A funds and/or the needs of the district, continuation of this position can be rescinded.

Hailey Elementary - 113

• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration of scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
• Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
• Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
• Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Previous experience with children or learning environment.

• High school diploma/GED.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate (must obtain within 30 days of employment).

• Ability to work well with children.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.

Pay Grade: IS-1 - Minimum hourly rate - $14.00
