Job Description
The role is taught by adjunct faculty part‑time on a semester‑by‑semester basis at Lone Star College. The faculty member is responsible for providing learning activities and support that lead to the achievement of course objectives and contribute to the educational environment of the college and the community. Primary responsibilities include planning, developing, and teaching courses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates student learning.
Purposeand Scope
Adjunct faculty may teach a maximum of five classes per academic year. Classes are offered at various times and locations during the academic year to meet student demand. The faculty member is expected to provide day, evening, and weekend classes.

The work is sedentary. The employee typically sits comfortably to perform work. Walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, or small parts, and driving an automobile may be required. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Work Schedule and Conditions- Equipment used includes a PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment, and any specialized equipment standard within the discipline/industry.
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position.
- Class schedules will be offered in a blocked format and developed for the convenience of the students.
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with cognitive disabilities.
- Master's degree in education or related field.
- Experience implementing Universal Design.
$55.44 per contact hour.
