Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Coordinator III for Honors and International Education (HIE) develops and communicates the division's vision, mission, andgoals. Provides administrative management for current and future projects and proposals. Through collaboration with the HIE Director, the HIE division and related stakeholders, is responsible for the implementation and assessment of programs and campus activities and makes recommendations related to student development and retention.

Campus programming and student engagement constitute the ongoing weekly baseline of the position, while workload distribution between campus and system responsibilities varies considerably by academic cycle and by division need. Many of the positions'functions may be performed at the campus level, the System level,or both, as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

In consultation with the HIE Director, oversees functions ofthe campus HIE programs, including Global Scholars and Honors programming, as well as international education initiatives and the International Studies Area of Concentration

Assists with or oversees maintaining the HIE campus center,including making relevant facilities requests, supply orders, and student engagement tracking; may provide work direction to campusHIE support staff and student workers

Supports campus and system-level budget and procurement processes, including data entry and expense reports. May make budget recommendations

Plans, coordinates, and hosts campus HIE events for faculty, staff, and students to promote academic persistence, retention, and graduation

Serves as a point-of-contact for students, mentors, administrators and LSC campus community regarding HIE programming and services

As assigned, coordinates, and supports faculty and staff training sessions regarding successful undergraduate research and/or international education best practices

Coordinates and implements program outreach and recruitment activities to promote and increase student participation in Global Scholar, Honors, and other HIE programs, events, and initiatives

Regularly assesses and analyzes student needs, interests, andevents for developing programs, objectives, and plans for reports and evaluation

Meets with students to track progress and success within Global Scholars, Honors, and/or International Studies Area of Concentration; with HIE director, may serve as program Advisor to students in HIE programs or tracks

May represent OHIE at Lone Star College events and conferences

Coordinates and may serve as the HIE trip leader, overseeing trip logistics and related activities to ensure successful program implementation

Supports and coordinates system-level HIE projects,initiatives, and events as assigned, including tracking timelines and deliverables, compiling documentation, reviewing records for completeness and accuracy, and preparing and submitting reports.

Supports system-level curriculum management, such as course building in i-Star, review of syllabi, capacity reports, course scheduling across the system, and first-pass review of student learning outcomes documentation

Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned
