Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Drafter at Rock Solid Precast in Conroe, TX. The Drafter will be responsible for creating technical drawings; collaborating with engineers and team members; and ensuring designs meet industry standards and specifications.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret civil site plans and drainage layouts to develop corresponding precast solutions.
- Produce accurate shop drawings and production drawings for precast stormwater structures using CAD software.
- Perform quality checks to identify and correct drafting errors before project release to production.
- Revise shop drawings based on design changes and client feedback.
- Work with sales, project management and production teams to ensure accurate representation of structure dimensions.
- May be required to assist in other office duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD drafting software. Solid Works is a plus, but not required.
- Associate's degree in drafting or related field, or equivalent experience
- 1 to 3 years of experience in precast or construction industry.
- Knowledge of construction and engineering principles
- Ability to read and interpret civil plans, grading plans and utility drawings
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings
- Ability to collaborate with engineers
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
