Overview
This role is part‑time, scheduled at 30 hours per week
The Teller position delivers superior and efficient service to members who interact with the credit union through branch locations. The teller processes transactions, educates members about available service channels, and refers members to appropriate branch employees or departments, all while meeting or exceeding the set service standards.
Responsibilities- Process member transactions accurately, efficiently, and timely, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and check cashing.
- Daily balance cash drawers and correct any discrepancies.
- Provide information and referrals for new accounts, lending, insurance, and investments.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, applicable laws, and regulations (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, OFAC).
Minimum of one to three years of similar or related experience, including cash handling and customer service, is preferred.
Education and CertificationsA high school diploma or equivalent.
Interpersonal SkillsCourtesy and tact are essential. The role involves frequent personal contact with customers and effective communication in writing and orally.
Other Skills- Professional courteous communication.
- Accurate and timely data entry.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel (preferred).
- Strong customer service skills.
Primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion. Ability to lift a cash box up to 10 lbs and coin bags up to 30 lbs on occasion, climb/descend stairs, operate office equipment, stand for long periods, work on a computer 6–8 hours per day, and work extended hours when required.
Working ConditionsIndoor, climate‑controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
Mental and Emotional RequirementsPerform job functions independently or with limited supervision, follow written and oral instructions, communicate clearly, use basic math and accurate spelling, handle diverse personalities professionally, maintain composure under stressful deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and exercise discretion on confidential matters.
