How You’ll ContributeThis position is responsible for supporting the needs of the department with a focus on clinical, operational, and administrative excellence.
Essential Functions- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems
- Display active involvement in the treatment planning process
- Provide family session counseling to all patients to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups
- Actively communicate with clients, families, and outside referral sources
- Demonstrate proactive communication with those involved with the patient’s treatment
- Work well with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review, and nursing staff members
- Demonstrate active communication with team members
- Effectively communicate to UR on treatment and LOS issues
- Complete appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate and complete manner
- Demonstrate appropriate crisis intervention and de‑escalation skills
- Act as a member of the team when a crisis situation occurs, assisting others to ensure patient safety
- Complete accurate assessments of patients utilizing clinical skills
- Assist care coordination department as requested
- Complete all documentation thoroughly, timely, and in accordance with hospital standards
- Display a thorough knowledge of confidentiality
- Complete releases appropriately
- Demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA regulations and abide by those standards
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all clinical regulations, including TJC, Medicaid, and state and federal laws
- Display active involvement in the discharge, transition, and after‑care planning treatment processes
- Other duties as assigned
- Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients
Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or equivalent required.
License: Current clinical or social work license as required by state regulations.
Certifications: CPR and De‑escalation certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
