As a Billing Specialist, you will ensure that critical insurance billing and accounts receivable processes run smoothly, helping us continue to deliver mental health and intellectual disability services with excellence.

What You'll Do
* Review, process, and submit insurance claims and billing documents.
* Enter, update, and maintain client payer information.
* Post and reconcile payments, adjustments, and remittance advice statements (electronic and paper).
* Rebill secondary payers and handle appeals, denials, and claim corrections.
* Monitor aged accounts receivable, reporting regularly to the supervisor.
* Serve as the liaison between the billing department, payers, and agency staff.
* Provide exceptional customer service while ensuring all HIPAA regulations are strictly followed.
* Participate in meetings, committees, and special projects that support the success of the billing department.

What We're Looking For
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* At least 2 years' experience in medical insurance billing and data entry in an automated system.
* Working knowledge of medical terminology.
* Strong knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid.
* Ability to work from and read EOBs.
* Knowledge of HIPAA, HCFA 1500, UB04, CPT, ICD-10 and electronic billing.
* Basic use in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Ability to type 40wpm and pass computer testing.
* Ability to learn and use electronic billing software.
Payscale:
Hourly rate: $19.95
Annual equivalent: $41,494

online solicitation of a minor, money laundering, Medicaid fraud, Medicare fraud, cruelty to animals, false identification as a peace officer, disorderly conduct, and discharges of a firearm in a public place other than a public road or a sport shooting range, as defined by Section 250.001, Local Government Code. Offenses that are not an absolute bar to employment but may be considered a contraindication will also be considered during the pre-employment process.
