Job
We are searching for a Staff Pharmacist — someone who thrives in a patient-centered, high-touch clinical setting. In this position, you will promote pharmaceutical care by managing complex specialty medication therapies, identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems, and resolving actual drug-related problems. Additionally, you will perform the duties of a registered pharmacist with an emphasis on specialty medication management, patient counseling, and adherence support.
All responsibilities will be performed in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (0–adult).

Responsibilities- Ensures specialty medications meet the highest standards for safety, efficacy, and appropriate utilization
- Participates in the education of patients, caregivers, and the community on specialty disease states, complex medication regimens, and self-administration techniques
- Supports patient safety systems, including monitoring for adverse effects, drug interactions, and therapy-specific risk management programs (e.g., REMS)
- Checks all available means of communication including e-mail, mailbox, and voicemail every shift
- Ensures the smooth operation of the specialty clinic pharmacy and acts as a role model for technicians and other pharmacists as evidenced by lack of complaints, medication incident reports, and peer review
- Maintains specialty drug records and documentation according to departmental policy, including limited distribution drug (LDD) program requirements
- Contributes to the medication management process, including prior authorization support, benefits verification coordination, and therapy initiation workflows
- Conducts patient medication reviews and counseling, ensuring that patients and caregivers understand their specialty medication therapies, administration techniques, storage requirements, and adherence expectations
- Monitors patient outcomes and adherence, collaborating with clinic providers to optimize therapy and address barriers to care
Participates in quality improvement initiatives and supports clinical program development within the specialty pharmacy

Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or Pharm.
D. required - RPH certification from the state of Texas required
2+ years of pharmacist experience preferred; specialty pharmacy or ambulatory clinic experience preferred
