Administrator Of Medical Records
Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare (TCBHC) is seeking an Administrator of Medical Records to lead our Medical Records Department and help keep our systems organized, compliant, and running efficiently. Under the oversight of the Director of Quality Management, this position plays a key part in supporting staff across the Center while ensuring client records are handled with care, accuracy, and confidentiality.
What You'll Do:
- Supervise the medical records team and oversee daily operations.
- Manage all aspects of medical records including, but not limited to: gathering, processing, distributing, tracking, and maintaining of client medical records.
- Ensure compliance with privacy laws and regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, Health and Safety Code.
- Provide medical records support and consultation to Center staff.
- Assist with subpoenas and other legal requests for records.
- Participate in medical records-related research, training, and project management initiatives.
- Coordinate record retention, desk procedures, administrative scanning, and records related process improvements.
- Communicate professionally with Center staff, individuals served, family members, court/legal staff, and external agencies or providers seeking information and records

What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college OR at least two (2) years of relevant Community Center experience OR at least two (2) years of relevant medical records experience
- Certification in medical records preferred
- Ability to pass basic Microsoft Word and Excel competency testing
- Typing speed of at least 30 WPM
- Valid driver's license and ability to be insured through Tri-County
- Reliable transportation
