Behavior Support Provider

Position Summary

The duties involve directly providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disorders (IDD) or related conditions. The Behavior Support Provider will be responsible for following all pertinent rules and regulations in the Texas Administration Code for waivers, as well as local and company policies.

• The Behavior Support Provider will work with individuals, treatment teams, and directors to write, implement, and monitor behavior support plans and guidelines that comply with HHSC guidelines and codes; systematically evaluate the efficacy of plans and revise them as needed.
• Provide counseling and skills training for individuals with IDD.
• Act as the primary resource to staff, support members, and directors in understanding disabilities and positive behavior support by providing ongoing in‑services and education on general and individualized behavioral supports, functional behavioral analysis, data gathering, and strategy implementation.
• Perform direct observations of individuals for behavioral assessment and development.
• Work hands‑on with staff at day habilitation centers and in‑facility sites to ensure full implementation of the behavior program.
• Conduct behavioral assessment and write reports and plans, including observational reviews, justification of services, mental status exams, functional assessments, intakes, analyses, monitoring reports, mental health support plans, and behavior intervention programs.
• Track hours of contact and meet standard requirements for billing purposes.
• Respond to critical incidents involving aberrant or illegal behaviors by providing guidance and post‑intervention care to individuals, families, guardians, and service providers.
• Ensure comprehensive notes for billable and non‑billable services are written in accordance with State and Federal Billing Guidelines.

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or related field from an accredited university and a clear license to practice in Texas (LPC, LPC‑Associate, BCBA, or LCSW).
• Licensed clinical social worker in accordance with Chapter 501 of the Texas Occupations Codes.
• Licensed professional counselor in accordance with Chapter 501 of the Texas Occupations Codes.

Travel is primarily local during the business day; some out‑of‑the‑area and overnight travel may be expected depending on the locations of assigned caseload.
