Job SummaryThe ED Paramedic will collect and convey information to both their team members and the attending Physician regarding the health status of patients, perform all duties identified in their job description and validated by competency assessment under the License of the Physician Medical Director, report to the Nursing Director of Emergency Services, and serve as a member of the Healthcare team through active communication, documentation, feedback and assistance as needed or requested.
Responsibilities- Assist the ED clinical team with providing top quality patient care within their scope of practice in the hospital setting
- Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives
- Maintain competence in skills and documentation
- Utilize SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) for effective communication
- Support and represent the facility’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values while performing the role
- Attend meetings and in-services as required by departmental policy
- Technical functions
- 12 Lead EKG
- Input and output documentation
- Document in medical record
- EHR documentation of care
- Document in EMAR & BCMA
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Paramedic, or EMT-State Emergency Medical Technician
