Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist Assistant

To promote the development of articulation, voice, fluency and language skills according to each student’s Individualized Educational Plans (IEP).

• Follow guidance from supervisor to implement treatment/goals and conduct therapy session in both English and Spanish
• Implement the IEP goals approved by the ARD Committee
• To maintain a positive relationship with supervisor, students and all school staff
• Maintain required data collection/therapy logs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• May require flexibility to travel to multiple campuses.

• Experience in public school speech-language therapy

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Current (or in progress) state license as a speech language pathology assistant through the Texas Department of Licensing Regulations (TDLR)

• Knowledge in all areas of speech development and treatment of speech-language disorders
• Skills in working with campus staff, administrators and parents
• Fluent in both written and spoken English and Spanish

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data; maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, and kneeling. May be required to lift and transfer students to and from wheelchair or assist with positioning students with physical disabilities.

Pay Grade: AE – 1 – Minimum pro-rated salary $54,830
