Phlebotomist/Lab Coordinator

What you will do:

  • Perform all phlebotomy services for the Adult Outpatient Clinic
  • Draw blood using sterilized needles, vials, and other equipment
  • Collect urine samples for drug screens, and/or urinalysis
  • Ensure optimal quality and quantity of samples
  • Label samples correctly and send for testing
  • Operate centrifuge, timers, and other laboratory equipment in completing assigned duties
  • Keep accurate records on all specimens
  • Accurately and timely document details of the service the EMR
  • Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards while working
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Reassure clients and help calm their nerves
  • Answer patient questions and provide useful information
  • Contact clients the day before lab appointment to review lab preparation instructions

What you'll need:

  • Diploma in Phlebotomy or extensive on-the-job training.
  • At least 2 years of experience in phlebotomy required
  • Certification preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with mental illness, substance used disorders, and intellectual/developmental disabilities a plus.
