The Youth Crisis Response Family Partner will provide peer mentoring and support to caregivers of a youth who is receiving a YCOT crisis response service.
Responsibilities- Provide peer mentoring, education and support to caregivers of program participants to enhance understanding of behavioral health needs for children and youths, promote stabilization of current crisis event, and provide support following a crisis episode.
- Teach and support skills necessary for caregivers to navigate multiple systems.
- Maintain continued engagement with the parent(s), guardian, or legally authorized representative of the youth for the seven-day period authorized for crisis services.
- Deliver services primarily in the community and in family homes.
- Obtain HHSC‑approved Family Partner Certification Training within 1 year of employment and maintain certification throughout employment.
- Travel in‑ and out‑of‑region as required.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one year of lived experience as a parent or guardian raising a child or youth diagnosed with a mental, emotional, or behavioral disorder.
- One year of experience navigating a child‑serving system (e.g., mental health, juvenile justice, social security, special education) as the Legally Authorized Representative (LAR) for that child or youth.
- Certified Family Partner within 1 year of hire and maintain certification thereafter.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred (paid at a higher salary).
- Valid driver’s license and insurability through Tri‑County.
$21.94/hour
$23.26/hour (Bilingual)
