JOB DESCRIPTION:
Train, support and collaborate with staff in the use and analysis of valid data collection in the development of Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and/or Analysis, Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP), identification of appropriate behavior goals and effective Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:- Demonstrate leadership in best practices in the area of PBIS.
- Develop and provide staff development related to best practices in the area of PBIS.
- Provide training and assist the campus staff in conducting, writing, and/or implementing functional behavioral assessments, behavior intervention plans, and/or behavior protocols.
- Pursue continuous improvement and growth in knowledge of behavior intervention strategies, methodologies, and analysis by participating in professional development.
- Collaborate with campus and District staff to problem solve in difficult situations.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration with building personnel and parents.
- Keep informed of and comply with federal, state, District, and school regulations and policies for special education.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Three years of experience in working with students with disabilities in public school
- Experience in facilitating and/or working with teams
Education/Certification:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Master's degree in education, social work, psychology, sociology, or other related area
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
- Knowledge of best practices in the area of classroom management and PBIS
- Fluent knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies
- Ability to plan and deliver staff development
- Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data to include general education and special education
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage crisis situations
- Strong knowledge of functional behavioral assessments and/or analysis, behavior intervention plans, and/or behavior protocols
- Understanding of data collection as it pertains to behavior
Oversee and provide evaluation input for Registered Behavior Technician.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environment Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling. May be required to lift and position students with physical disabilities and assist non-ambulatory students. Exposure to biological hazards. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Itinerant position travel is necessary.
Salary:
PAY GRADE: AE-4 - Minimum pro-rated salary - $79,232
