Responsibilities
- Perform all phlebotomy services for the Adult Outpatient Clinic
- Draw blood using sterilized needles, vials, and other equipment
- Collect urine samples for drug screens, and/or urinalysis
- Ensure optimal quality and quantity of samples
- Label samples correctly and send for testing
- Operate centrifuge, timers, and other laboratory equipment in completing assigned duties
- Keep accurate records on all specimens
- Accurately and timely document details of the service in the EMR
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards while working
- Reassure clients and help calm their nerves
- Answer patient questions and provide useful information
- Contact clients the day before lab appointment to review lab preparation instructions

- Diploma in Phlebotomy or extensive on-the-job training.
- At least 2 years of experience in phlebotomy required
- Certification preferred
- Experience working with individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual/developmental disabilities a plus.

PayscaleHourly rate: $18.00
Annual equivalent: $37,481

Applicants who have lived out of state for two or more years from the date of submission of this application must have a Federal background check by fingerprinting through the FBI if they are selected for a position.
