Veteran Service Coordinator II

The Veteran Service Coordinator II will be responsible for training Military Veteran Peer Network Peers, providing direct peer support services, and ensuring compliance with Justice Involved Veteran initiatives to connect justice involved veterans to appropriate military culturally competent resources.

This position's duties will include the following:

  • Promoting access to culturally competent mental health resources, and supporting community collaboration.
  • Providing MVPN Basic Training, and supports Regional Veterans Services Liaison in coordination of trained Peers.
  • Playing a vital role in collaborating with regional jails to locate veterans, identify needs, and connect veterans to available resources through direct peer services.
  • Maintaining documentation to support compliance with contract requirements, reporting standards, and program objectives.
  • Fostering partnerships with community organizations and behavioral health providers to improve access to services and strengthen local support networks for military-connected individuals.

What you'll need:

  • Must be a Veteran, combat experience preferred, or immediate family member of a Veteran who has combat experience.
  • Bachelors Degree in Social Services preferred.
  • Must have above average written and verbal skills and be comfortable with public speaking. Above average computer skills strongly preferred and one year experience with mental health/social services or a volunteer focused program preferred.
  • Must complete Peer Services Coordinator Certification through Texas Veteran's Commission and complete training in Suicide Risk Behavior Identification and Suicide Prevention within 6 months of hire.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and be insurable through Tri-County

Pay Scale:

Hourly Rate: $10.30
