About the Role

We're a growing company expanding into new states, and we're looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to help us stay ahead of changing employment laws and payroll regulations.

This isn't a role for someone who waits to be told what to do. We're looking for someone who enjoys researching, solving problems, and taking ownership. If you love digging into employment law, payroll compliance, and building processes that keep a company compliant, you'll fit right in.

What You'll Do
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and payroll laws.
  • Research HR, payroll, tax, and labor law requirements as we expand into new states.
  • Develop and maintain compliant HR and payroll processes.
  • Stay ahead of legislative changes and recommend policy updates.
  • Advise leadership on employment law, wage and hour compliance, payroll regulations, leave laws, and employee classifications.
  • Partner with HR, payroll, and operations to implement compliant practices.
  • Maintain documentation and assist with audits and compliance reviews.
  • Become the company's subject matter expert on multi-state HR and payroll compliance.
What We're Looking For
  • 3–7+ years of HR, payroll, or compliance experience.
  • Strong multi-state HR and payroll compliance experience.
  • Ability to research unfamiliar state laws and confidently apply them.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Self‑motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Someone who follows through and takes ownership from start to finish.
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Payroll software and HRIS experience.
What Success Looks Like
  • You proactively identify compliance risks before they become problems.
  • You enjoy finding answers when regulations change.
  • You thrive in a fast‑paced, growing business.
  • You can manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
  • You don't let things fall through the cracks.
Compensation

$85,000–$100,000 annually, based on experience.

If you're passionate about compliance, love research, and want to play a key role in helping a growing company expand the right way, we'd love to hear from you.
