Position Summary

Our client, a growing company in the natural gas industry, is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to provide temporary support to its Human Resources team. This role is responsible for supporting a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, HR compliance, performance management, and day-to-day HR operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains confidentiality, and enjoys partnering with employees and management to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and employee relations matters.
  • Support the full-cycle recruitment process, including posting positions, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, extending offers, and assisting with onboarding.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure all employment documentation is completed accurately and in compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and responding to employee inquiries.
  • Assist with payroll processing by reviewing employee data, timekeeping records, and personnel changes.
  • Coordinate employee performance review processes and assist managers with performance management documentation.
  • Support leave administration, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and other leave programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company events.
  • Prepare HR reports, metrics, and documentation for management as needed.
  • Support investigations involving employee concerns and assist in documenting findings and recommendations.
  • Participate in special HR projects, process improvements, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
  • Experience supporting multiple areas of Human Resources, including recruiting, employee relations, benefits, onboarding, and compliance.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and EEOC regulations.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information.
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting the oil & gas, energy, manufacturing, or industrial industries.
  • HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP is a plus.
  • Experience with payroll processing and HR reporting.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms.
