JOB DESCRIPTION:

Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of Powerschool Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and custom software solutions that support educational operations. Bridge the gap between academic and administrative departments, ensuring that technology solutions align with institutional goals and enhance operational efficiency.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the Powerschool ERP system, working closely with the System Administrator position to provide effective and efficient support to CISD business system users.
  • Manage the district’s timekeeping system by providing support to the Payroll Department.
  • Provide support for applications that interface with Powerschool ERP.
  • Ensure software solutions integrate seamlessly with Powerschool ERP and other institutional systems.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the institution and Powerschool ERP vendors.
  • Represent the district in financial system user group discussions regarding software modifications to ensure effectiveness and compliance with TEA reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and coordinate the implementation of the requests.
  • Coordinate internal and external software development projects tailored to educational needs.
  • Design reports utilizing the Cognos report writer.
  • Oversee testing, deployment, and documentation of custom applications.
  • Design, code, test, and document applications to support user needs.
  • Manage regulatory compliance reporting including W2, 1099, ACA, TEA, and TRS.
  • Provide exceptional support as needed to the CISD PEIMS Manager and Financial Officer to ensure that PEIMS budgetary and financial data is prepared and submitted to the State of Texas in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Plan, organize, and control the ERP disaster recovery and backup procedures.
  • Provide for and maintain systems safeguarding all CISD sensitive information from unauthorized exposure; report any violations immediately upon discovery to immediate supervisor.
  • Plan for and host meetings and conferences, as necessary, to effectively disseminate information and coordinate the implementation/application of district policies as they pertain to the management of the various ISD Business Accounting Systems.
  • Support the efforts of the Technology Department in implementing the overall Technology Plan for the district.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Three to five years of experience in programming, software development, and system design experience
  • Two years hands-on experience in the management of a large production database-oriented system
  • Two years of experience working in a team-based, customer-oriented environment
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

  • Master’s degree in computers or computer science or equivalent work experience

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

  • Experience with financial applications, SQL, and data analysis
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and determine appropriate technical solutions
  • Experience working in enterprise, networked environments with packages software
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently learn new systems using documentation
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills in a customer-oriented setting
  • Demonstrated service orientation and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of TRS and TEA reporting requirements
  • Ability to manage and safeguard sensitive and confidential information
