Assistant Community Manager (or Leasing Manager)

This role supports and assists the Community Manager in overseeing the financial and operational facets of the community. The assistant handles accounting, bookkeeping, and resident relations while maintaining system integrity through Yardi/One Site.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and post rent, fees, and other payments; prepare daily bank deposits and reconcile bank accounts.
  • Prepare financial reports and process invoices and payables.
  • Operate property‑management software, ensuring accurate entry and regular backups.
  • Review resident files to identify unpaid or late fees, communicate with residents, and enforce lease terms to maximize revenue.
  • Review and submit vendor invoices, reconciling work performed, coding charges, and obtaining approvals.
  • Follow company procedures for evictions, issuing notice, and representing the community in court hearings.
  • Process resident move‑outs, applying deposit and lease‑cancellation fees where applicable.
  • Promote resident satisfaction and retention by resolving complaints and service issues.
  • Act as on‑site supervisor in the absence of the community manager, organizing daily work and coordinating maintenance with the supervisor.
  • Assist in managing the client/owner relationship by meeting owners, conducting tours, and providing performance updates.
  • Support leasing and marketing efforts, greeting prospects, collecting information, showing apartments, completing applications, and verifying credit.
  • For California positions only: review move‑in files before submission to the community manager.
Basic Knowledge & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Communications, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in residence life, property management, or community operations.
  • Understanding of lease terms, enforcement, and collections.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, capable of independent work and collaboration.
Specialized Skills
  • All required state and local licenses or certifications must be held.
  • Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on property.
  • Proficiency in Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, and database management.
  • Strong proficiency in property‑management software (Yardi, One Site, Entrata, etc.).
Travel / Physical Demands
  • Office environment with frequent outdoor exposure; must be able to access all exterior and interior areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lb independently and 50 lb with assistance.
  • Routine local travel may be required for bank deposits or training.
  • Rare or occasional travel may be required for business meetings.
Compensation

Hourly range: $18.25 – $22.50.

Additional compensation may include quarterly or annual bonuses (corporate positions) or weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly bonuses (onsite positions) based on performance.
