Equipment Operator - Inventory Nights

This position operates forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment to move, locate, relocate, stock, and count materials in accordance with production standards.

• Assists machine operators, welders, and other personnel in loading/unloading, transporting raw, in‑process, and finished materials throughout the facility.
• Uses forklifts and other heavy equipment such as cranes to safely and effectively move various sizes of steel plates and poles.
• Stages all stock and manufactured steel plate for production.
• Moves in‑process and finished poles to appropriate areas.
• Abides by all safety standards and policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Performs routine safety inspections before operating equipment.
• Contributes to a safe working environment by maintaining quality, safety, organization, and cleanliness.
• Communicates and works well with others to accomplish related tasks as needed.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent, or any combination of education and experience.

Experience:

Forklift driving or crane/heavy equipment experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

• Effective communication in English at all team levels.
• Ability to drive and operate a forklift.
• Compliance with safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Contribution to safety and quality control standards.
• Multi‑tasking in a fast‑paced environment.
• Regular and timely attendance.

• Work in a plant/manufacturing environment.
• Required PPE: safety glasses, steel‑toe metatarsal boots, hearing protection, and task‑specific PPE.
• Exposure to temperature fluctuations, dust, and noise.
• Workable in all weather conditions, including heat and cold.
• Push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Reach, climb, bend, stoop, sit, stand, and grasp.
• Stand and walk all shift.
• Good hand‑eye coordination to operate overhead cranes.
• Pass commercial driver vision testing requirements.
