Position Overview
We are currently hiring a Fabrication Technician / Welder to support manufacturing operations in a fast-paced industrial environment. This position is responsible for metal fabrication, MIG welding, material preparation, and operating shop equipment to build products according to specifications and quality standards.
Primary Duties- Review blueprints, drawings, and production instructions to complete fabrication work.
- Perform MIG welding on steel and stainless materials.
- Cut, fit, form, and assemble metal components to meet dimensional requirements.
- Prepare and shape sheet metal using fabrication tools and machinery.
- Inspect measurements and verify quality using gauges, rulers, and measuring devices.
- Operate shop equipment including brake press, shear, plasma cutter, welding machines, grinders, drill press, band saw, and other fabrication equipment.
- Assist with layout, material preparation, and assembly activities.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding completed work and inspection readiness.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
- Support additional shop duties as needed.
- Previous welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with fabrication tools, measuring devices, and shop equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints, prints, and tape measurements.
- Experience operating forklifts is helpful.
- Understanding of quality procedures and shop safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and maintain productivity in a fast-paced setting.
- Good communication and dependability are important for success in this role.
- Must be able to stand, bend, walk, and move throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Welding certifications are a plus.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent is beneficial.
- Hands‑on weld assessment required before placement.
