Position OverviewApache Workforce Solutions is hiring skilled Fabrication Welders for multiple manufacturing facilities in the Houston and Conroe areas. We are looking for dependable individuals with fabrication experience who can produce quality weldments while following engineering drawings, production schedules, and safety standards.
The ideal candidate is experienced with MIG welding, blueprint reading, and metal fabrication processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Perform MIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel components.
Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work instructions.
Assemble, fit, and weld fabricated components to required specifications.
Set up welding equipment and make adjustments to ensure consistent weld quality.
Verify weld locations, dimensions, and tolerances using measuring tools.
Complete layout, fit-up, squaring, and alignment of fabricated assemblies.
Grind, clean, and finish welded components as required.
Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards.
Repair weld defects when necessary.
Perform tack welding, spray transfer MIG welding, and stud welding.
Operate cutting equipment for material preparation, including torches and plasma cutters.
Safely operate overhead cranes and other shop equipment when required.
Notify quality personnel when assemblies are ready for inspection.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Assist with other production duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsAt least 2 years of fabrication welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Experience reading blueprints and fabrication drawings.
Proficient with measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, clamps, and fillet gauges.
Familiarity with fabrication equipment including:
Press brakes
Shears
Ironworkers
Band saws
Welding equipment
Cutting torches
Working knowledge of fabrication quality standards and inspection procedures.
Ability to accurately measure, calculate, and convert decimals and fractions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Dependable attendance and ability to work independently or with a team.
Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the shift.
Must be able to successfully complete a drug screening, background check, physical examination, and driving record review if required.
Preferred QualificationsCurrent 1G and/or 3G welding certifications.
